Emergence from Caccoon

Light is Sparkling across the flowing
Face of a meandering River Goddess
Mesmerized by the presence of Dancing
Sprites sparkling, I am filled with Joy.

As Lady River flows, an inner-voice
whispers to me the word Resilience.

Arriving home, I decide to Google
the word Resilient only to discover
 the word,  (Re-Silent) within it.
Amused by the thought process of
re-silencing, becoming re-silent,
I reflect on it's meaning, which
indicates the ability to recover
from loss, trauma, crisis, death
of a loved one, including divorce.

Images of survivors of the Tsunami,
Hurricane Katrina, and Haiti Earthquake,
flash across my lucid conscious awareness.
I'm amazed by the unwavering courage and
faith within these Resilient Heartswho
inspire all,  who hear their stories.
Surviving personal initiations, they
speak of their passage through the
"Valley of Death" and navigation
through a "Dark Night of the Soul".

Bearing witness to the horrific levels
of devastation affecting themselves
and so many other families, they cope,
trying to make sense of these tragedies.
Approaching the breaking point of
despair, disbelief and hopelessness,
Divine Guidance sparks inner-vision.
Inspired by a belief in a greater force
at work, they see a Divine Plan, as
hopeful Angels open their hearts.

Watching video coverage, of one of
these transforming planetary events,
I am captivated and inspired by the
prayers of a nurse, humbled to song.
Her melodies, calm the cries of so
many wounded and unattended Souls.
I humbly bow, honoring her innate
ability to trust her instincts, to do what
must be done, in the present moment,
with very minimal available resources.

Other footage, captures the glorious
shouts of men rescuing a young boy
from a heap of smoldering rubble.
Lifting him from the darkness into
the Light of Day, they proclaim victory
over Death, silencing me, once again.
As Holy Witness, I am Re-silenced
changed, never to be the same .

Emerging from my own Healing
Cocoonafter 8 years of Caregiving
Myself and my Family, and enduring the
Death of my Father and Uncles, I touch
ignite and nourish my own Resilient Heart.
Sending Loving, Healing Blessings into the
World, I continue to ask, "How can I help"?

  1. Lovely sacred tribute to the resilience of the human spirit and the broken open heart; the heart from which song pours forth; the nurse's song. It is uplifting and it is humbling. So grateful too, to see you, by way of modeling, remind all of us to honor our own personal journeys and resilience.
AND I must quip, on a lighter note: resilience also has, in a funny way, re-silly-ance. For certainly laughter and a smile bring us much courage in the darkest hours.

    thank you!
