3. Earth Mother / Medicine Woman

The Art of Mothering, expresses the

genuine qualities of unconditional love,
compassion, understanding, empathy,
dedication, faith and non-attachment.
The Souls who embody these qualities,
 learn to develop personal resilience.

I am inspired by the prose of a poem
"The Invitation" by Oriah Mountain Dreamer.
It expresses a perspective that cares not
about what a person does for a living,
but values those dedicated Souls who
stay up all night with sick loved ones
then arises without complaint to greet
the day with a caring, positive attitude.

Mothers face the reality, of knowing
when to hold on - protect and when
to allow - gently release, and let go.
They're also required to choose when
to help others, and when to establish
boundaries, and express tough Love.

The role of mothering, is for some
the most rewarding role of their life.
Giving birth to my son changed mine
forever in so many awesome ways.

Unfortunately, in our culture, many
Mothers are not taught how to replenish
their energy, so after years of care-giving
children, spouses, or elders, they burn out.
Exhaustion and a lack of appreciation leads
to fear based resentment, criticism, anger,
and judgment, which become expressions
of the negative aspects of mothering.

"When we approach life from an attitude
of Love with Wisdom, we resist the need
to over - give, to push hard, to make things
happen, or over-protect. Our inner-Mother
hopefully embodies "a trusting, balanced,
rather than controlling, protective heart."
Angeles Arrien - The Tarot Handbook

As natural healers, many Mother's
choose careers in the counseling and
health professions. Effective mentors
they cultivate and teach resilience
by developing a practice of Self-love.
Exploring ways to comfort, nurture,
and support Self, they are available
to nurture, love and support others.

Mother Nature
is a vital role model for

all who take the time to visit and spend
time in her natural healing environments.
Her resilience shines a guiding light upon
all who enter her healing, sacred realms.

2. Sacred Priestess / Divine Feminine Muse

Bare feet in sand, stalking through
tall reeds, I find myself a sacred space
near some cattails. My inner- Child-Fool
feels at home here, for as a country girl,
it was one of my favorite hiding places.

Stomping through these hallowed grounds
just after the fields were flood irrigated,
I was intrigued by the delicate, graphite
patterns, gracing the untouched sand.

Just as other sensitives read tea leaves,
Mother Nature, as Divine Feminine Muse
reveals her secrets, to me via Sand images.

"Native Americans knew that finding
Cattailsgrowing plentifully in ditches,
marshes and swamps, was a sure sign
of finding water. They utilized every
part of the plant for its nutritional,
medicinal value and creative purposes.
The dried leaves were twisted into dolls
much like today's corn-husk dolls /animals.
They were also used to thatch roofs, weave
baskets, backs of chairs, and make mats."
( "Wildman" Steve Brill)
--------------------------------------------------
Early in my youth, it was clear to me how

different I was from other children and
Adults. I learned to embrace and utilize
my wild creative and psychic abilities.
I honored the Lotus Flower, because we
both rooted in water, grounded in mud.

One year, during a Spring Equinox
birthing ceremony, I was gifted a wild
gray haired, potato faced "Crone Doll".
A Spirit Sister asked me what I wanted
 the Crone to take away? I replied "Her"
I wanted to toss this crazy eyed doll
 into the river, because she embodied
my Mother's crazed disapproving gaze.

I learned that a Native American Doll,

incubates the insight that "She" is "Me"
the one I was so quick to judge, dismiss
so I now love, embrace, integrate her.
--------------------------------------------------
As beautiful as the Sacred Priestess is

in her youth, she eventually ages. During
Menopause, she shape shifts into the
Wise Crone Oracle, who can travel
between waking and dream worlds.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In no co-incidence, my
Grandsons
gifted me a Grandmother Teddy Bear
with spectacles, sitting in a rocking chair
for my Birthday. As the Oracle of Delphi
she sits upon her rocking chair throne.
Adorned with ceremonial dress, pearls,
hat and shawl, her arms are outstretched,
reaching to Loved Ones and to Heaven.
"This is you Nana!",my Grandsons proudly
exclaimedadmiring the pearl necklace.
Time stopped in that lucid moment,
as all resistance to flow in my stern
Heart melted slowly, deliciously away.
1. Magician / Magical Sage
On the dawn of Spring Equinox, the
day of my birth, I bask in the glow of
Father Sunlight, now rising in my
review mirror, as I drive to work.
A lingering Night Owl, is circling.
 It's the first sunrise, I've seen in awhile.
The Brilliance of this gift, inspires me
to pull off highway to take photo, but
my camera's batteries are depleted,
as are mine, after three days of
dedicated substitute teaching.
Re-energized by the amazing gift
of illumination from this glowing orb,
my inner- Magician's imagination,
begins to stir the cauldron of the
unknown, aware of synchronicity.
Pennies, hummingbirds, paper clips
and Lady Bugs appear in random places.
Cats, rabbits, ducks, herons speak to me.
Numbers catch my attention, re-cycling:
 8, 1:11, 11:11, 2:22, 3:33, 4:44, 12:12.
-------------------------------------------------
Life dances with harmonic vitality.
Mother Nature
weaves a symphony
of dissonant and harmonic sounds.
Doves coo, dogs bark, woodpeckers
drill, and fire engine sirens blare.
Stopping at the river, I observe the flow
of the River Goddess. Laughter and train
whistles, panting joggers, church bells
and silence seem to be orchestrated
into a vibrant harmonic chorus of life.
-----------------------------------------
Exercising my body, I review the somatic
wisdom that lives in my muscular memory.
"The true test of mastery is how well we
walk our talk and apply our knowledge."
Turning fifty-nine tomorrow, I realize
the more I know, the less I know
Admitting this awareness, opens doors
to more profound levels of understanding.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In order to embody the courage needed

to face our Shadow and free it's Light,
we must first, quiet the chatter of our
inner- Child / Fool's monkey mind.

Listening to and learning from the
wisdom of our inner- Magician / Sage,
we learn to observe, understand and
utilize the natural elements, which are
the essential building blocks of Life:
Water / Wood / Fire / Earth /

and Air-Metal-Crystal.

Observing and honoring the elements
and their holy counterparts, we learn
to resolve our inner-duality, resulting
in the metaphorical Sacred Marriage.

Entraining with the unfolding seasonal
cycles of Mother Earth and Father Sun
we learn when to surrender / rest and
when to initiate protective, action

The blessings within the Sun's rising,
illuminates the Darkness, to seed all
Humanity with messages of awakening.

Thinking we are in the "Driver's Seat",
is an illusion that is transformed with the
understanding of the teachings of those
Light Workers who have come before us.

I am willing to listen to and respond
to my Soul's intuitive inner-Guidance.

Divinity, blends compassion and humility.
Practicing presence within each moment,
we can learn to embody love's Resilience.

Transforming what we Fear with Love
we help one another walk a peaceful,
truly creative, meaningful, fulfilling,
joyful, abundant Middle Path.

Co-creating Heaven on Earth,
we re-birth each other into
a Dawning New Age.

Creative Healing Affirmations

I am a unique, loving, creative,
compassionate expression of God.

I embody the Courage to be my
Authentic Self and Live my Truth.

The first Person I must Love
unconditionally, is my Self.

I create Clear Boundaries for true
happiness and healthy relationships.

I gracefully balance the inner-Male
and inner-Female qualities of my Soul.

I ebb and I flow with the natural
rhythmic, cycles of my life dance.

Art, writing, kids, music and nature,
help me center my awareness.

I am a Spiritual Being having a
Human Experience on Earth.

God has a plan for Me, including:
Family, Career, Love and Partnership.

I am no longer willing to seeking
acceptance from unconscious Souls.

I realize that desiring to fulfill the
expectations of others, depletes
my energy, time and resources

I am who I am authentically.

As I live my Life, embodying the
Nobility of my Father and his Father,
my Light becomes a Sacred Magnet,
attracting my Divine Soul Mate.

Releasing Past and Future, I live
Now, in the Present Moment.

I am in gratitude for my Son,
Grandsons, friends and family.

I am in gratitude for the Abundance
in my life and for vital resources.

I am in gratitude for Creative

Passion, and the Breath of Life.
